Blogsville
by By K. Laskowski
Hey, that's what I should have named my new blog...
I've been playing for a few weeks, and thinking about doing it for
a about a year -- but this week was the official 'grand opening' of
"Me-Blog-Zone".
So, what is it -- it's my blog man...
If you've been on the net, or certainly if you are a webmaster, you have heard
or seen 'weblogs'. If not, here's the scoop...
Weblogs are really an online diary -- started as a log of sites visited along with
commentary, they have evolved into a real web phenomenon.
And having played with mine for about a month now I can see why.
Blogging is addicting (ok, so the whole internet thing is addicting - but blogs are
different). Being able to offer an opinion on virtually anything is a real kick,
and I now find myself writing down little tidbits at the strangest times to add to
me-blog-zone later
when I get to the computer.
And, I think I played around with the 'site design' more than I did for the e-Book-Zone site
(ok, please don't say you can tell).
And, if you write - books, articles, even website copy - doing a blog
should be a piece of cake. I'm finding it's loosening me up, and has got me
wanting to write something all the time (when's the last time I had my own article in here?) -
I rest my case.
It's not hard to start - there are 'blogging' services like Blogger, or
if you already have a web host, do what I did -- just add a blog to your site.
There is an amazing array of software to power your blog, but I heartily recommend
blosxom -- this one meets my simple and does what it says criteria.
You can read more about it on my blog ;)
